Poland XIII start Emerging Nations preparations against Skåne Stags

Poland has started their preparations for the upcoming Emerging Nations World Championship by organising a series of ‘friendly’ matches against neighbouring European clubs.

The matches, featuring a local Polish XIII, are being used as a selection trial for the national team which will play it’s first official International Test this October when they face the Hong Kong Thunder at St Mary’s Stadium.

The first trial, against the Skåne Stags from Sweden, took place at Łodzi na stadionie KS Budowlani last Saturday. In that fixture, the Polska XIII put in a competitive performance before going down 56 – 18 to the Swedish based Stags in the fixture.

The Polish XIII’s will play their next trial against the Mad Squirrels this weekend in Łodz. The Mad Squirrels are from the Czech Republic city of Vrchlabí.
