Men’s Emerging Nations run as stand-alone tournament

The fourth Men’s Emerging Nations World Championship is set to run as an stand-alone tournament after the International Rugby League (IRL) board agreed not to host the event as part of the 2021 Festival of World Cups in England.

The decision comes after applicants expressed difficulties in fielding their best possible squads for the proposed mid-year event.

Dates and venues for the fourth Men’s Emerging Nations World Championship will be confirmed after consultation with the International Rugby League members.

The inaugural Women’s Emerging Nations World Championship will remain part of the 2021 Festival of World Cups.
