Hong Kong Thunder is the international side representing Hong Kong Rugby League (HKRL), which is built of players from the four domestic Hong Kong teams, with an injection of experience from several Australian and New Zealand based players.

HKRL formed in 2015 with the launch of HKRL 9s (now into its fourth year) and last November’s international 13-a-side test match against Japan was the first of its kind for the Hong Kong Thunder.

The 2018 team, captained by Ringo Lung and trained by player-coach Jason Fairleigh, comprises a majority of rugby league international debutants looking to make an impact on the global game.
